ON June 1st, 2000 the Guam Racquetball Federation was founded by Nick Captain, Rick Meno, Larry Angeles, Frank Rios, Samson G.M. Flores & Juan Palomo.
Since its inception, the non-profit organization was succesful in raising funds to send TEAM GUAM to compete in the World Games in Mexico City, Mexico, bringing home a gold medal in the Mens Open Division by Rick Meno. Over all TEAM GUAM ranked number 19 in the World Games out of 32 countries.
Frank Rios also brought home a gold medal from his trip in Paris, France after competing in the World Seniors Doubles Championships. Frank Rios teamed up with Leo Klimaitis a native from Chicago, Illinois.
For the first time since GRF existence, the GRF will have its very own perpetual trophy that is unique to its islands culture and its people. The GRF board of directors have commisioned Samson G.M. Flores's family to produce the perpetual trophy for the organization.
Frank Rios was elected Vice President of the Asian Racquetball Federation, another first for GRF.
